First teaching post at Charles Saer Fleetwood. An amazing school, amazing community and an inspirational head teacher. Spent four beneficial years here crafting my teaching and learning skills.
In 1999 Mark moved to Audley junior school Blackburn. A very different learning experience for myself – having never taught ethnic minority children – soon realised ‘children are children’ whatever their background, creed or colour.
2006 Mark was seconded to Holy Trinity Primary school Darwen to support the newly appointed head teacher. became deputy head teacher in November 2006 and the substantive head teacher in 2006/ 2007.
Mark spent almost ten years as head teacher developing in with the whole school community a richly creative and adventurous school. Mark broke new ground, developing ambitious and exciting approaches to learning.
Mark remains passionate about developing learning experiences for children that challenge – inspire and develop intrigue and fascination for learning.
